Contest 67CS
We reply within 2-3 days.
The Contest 67CS card is for a buyer who saw a length of 21.26 m on SailWiki and decided the dimension was settled. On the current yard sheet the hull is 20.37 m, and with bowsprit 21.71 m. Displacement on SailWiki and boat-specs is 39,500 kg, while the yard sheet and Contest Yachts UK give 39,244 kg.
| What to check | Yard sheet / UK dealer | SailWiki / boat-specs |
|---|---|---|
| Length | hull 20.37 m; with bowsprit 21.71 m | 21.26 m |
| Displacement | 39,244 kg | 39,500 kg |
| Beam, draft, waterline | 5.65 m, 2.95 m, 18.50 m | 5.65 m, 2.95 m (no waterline on SailWiki; boat-specs 18.5 m) |
Beam and draft match in every source opened on 25 October 2026. Length and weight diverge, and length matters more. SailWiki prints a single length figure and does not separate hull and bowsprit. The MAIN DIMENSIONS 67CS sheet in the yard's specsboekje gives both figures: 20.37 m and 21.71 m with bowsprit. Contest Yachts UK repeats hull 20.37 m, waterline 18.50 m, beam, draft and 39,244 kg. The gap between the directory's 21.26 m and the sheet's 20.37 m is almost a metre; full length with bowsprit is further still. That is no longer a marina-rate rounding question, but which length the seller entered in the berth contract.
A listing that gives the 67CS as a "21 m" or "70 ft" boat is a reason to ask the seller which length was stated and which length the marina has on record. If the documents and photos do not answer that, the next step is a listing review. There is no dated yard invoice for a year of upkeep of this model, so the card carries no annual sum.

Design history
The hull was drawn by the office judel/vrolijk & co, the interior by Wetzels Brown Partners. Contest Yachts UK calls the 67CS the first boat of a long collaboration with that office. On the judel/vrolijk project page, opened on 25 October 2026, the delivery year is 2016 and the length is 21.26 m at a displacement of 39.50 t , the same rounded figures as SailWiki and boat-specs, not the current sheet's 20.37 m / 39,244 kg. Waterline, beam and draft at judel/vrolijk match the sheet: 18.50 m, 5.65 m, 2.95 m.
The fullest current document is the MAIN DIMENSIONS sheet in the yard's specsboekje. Besides the two lengths and the hull figures that match the UK dealer, it lists a 30.75 m mast, standard-keel ballast of 13,500 kg, 1,590 liters of fuel and 988 liters of water. Sail figures diverge between the sheet and the dealers: the sheet gives a 131 m² mainsail and a 111% genoa of 102 m², while Contest Yachts UK, Windcraft and SailWiki give a 145 m² mainsail and a 108 m² genoa. Sail areas side by side are not averaged: which area is on a given boat shows on the sail passport and in the photographs.
On layout the sources give a range. Contest Yachts UK writes "Three + Crew": six berths plus two for crew. On Contest's marketing page , up to four guest cabins, master forward or aft. boat-specs lists cabins 3-4. The engine floats too: the yard sheet , Volvo Penta 129 kW / 175 hp, the UK dealer , 177 hp, the Yachting World 2017 test and boat-specs , 180 hp. Makes and powers are not averaged.
Ballast diverges from the test. The yard sheet and the Windcraft dealer table give 13,500 kg for the standard keel. In the Yachting World test of February 2017 the figure is 12,800 kg, and hull length there is 20.30 m. The passport records 13,500 kg because two current sources give that figure. The test figure is named and not averaged in.
Only cells where the current yard sheet agrees with Contest Yachts UK go into the passport: hull length 20.37 m, beam 5.65 m, waterline 18.50 m, draft 2.95 m, displacement 39,244 kg. Ballast 13,500 kg , yard sheet and Windcraft. Keel fixed. 21.71 m is the length with bowsprit and does not go into the length cell. The directories' and judel/vrolijk's 21.26 m and 39,500 kg do not go into the passport. The designer is named in the text, but the cells for designer, years and material stay empty. SailWiki prints fiberglass, CE A and a period "2014 - now", boat-specs , first built 2016, but the yard sheet has none of these cells. Fuel on SailWiki is listed as "1 l" , a directory error. No source gives a built-hull count.

Buyer FAQ
- What is the length of the Contest 67CS - 20.37 or 21.26 m?
These are different figures from different sources. On the current yard sheet the hull is 20.37 m, and with bowsprit 21.71 m. Contest Yachts UK repeats 20.37 m. SailWiki, boat-specs and the judel/vrolijk page, opened on 25 October 2026, print 21.26 m without separating hull and bowsprit. The model passport records the hull length of 20.37 m.
- Why is the displacement 39,244 kg and not 39,500 kg?
39,244 kg is printed by the current yard sheet and Contest Yachts UK. 39,500 kg (or 39.50 t) appears on SailWiki, boat-specs, judel/vrolijk and in the Yachting World 2017 test. A rounded or earlier figure is not averaged with the current yard figure.
- Why does the passport show ballast of 13,500 kg when Yachting World says 12,800 kg?
13,500 kg for the standard keel is given by the yard sheet and the Windcraft table. 12,800 kg appears in the Yachting World test of February 2017. The passport takes the figure that two current sources confirm, and the test figure stays in the text.
- Which engine and which sail area does the 67CS have?
The sources diverge. Yard sheet: Volvo Penta 129 kW / 175 hp, mainsail 131 m², genoa 102 m². Contest Yachts UK: 177 hp, mainsail 145 m², genoa 108 m². The 2017 test and boat-specs give about 180 hp. The card does not choose and does not average. Make, power and area on a given boat are shown by the engine plate and the sail passport.
- How many cabins does the Contest 67CS have?
Contest Yachts UK writes "Three + Crew". Contest marketing and boat-specs allow up to four guest cabins, master forward or aft. How many cabins a particular boat has can only be seen on board.
- What does the model passport hold?
Hull length 20.37 m, beam 5.65 m, waterline 18.50 m, draft 2.95 m, displacement 39,244 kg, ballast 13,500 kg and a fixed keel. Designer, years and material are empty. There is no built-hull count. The yard does not publish a production total.
Annual ownership costs
There is no dated yard invoice for a year of upkeep of the Contest 67CS in the bank. The card does not print an annual sum.
Berthing is quoted on the length by which the marina counts the boat. If it counts with the bowsprit, that is 21.71 m, not 20.37 m and not the directory's 21.26 m, so a request should state both sheet figures. For lifting and entering a harbor you need the draft of 2.95 m and the displacement of 39,244 kg from the yard sheet, not the directory's 39,500 kg. The mast by the yard sheet is 30.75 m. Engine service is counted from the plate on board: in the sources Volvo power floats from 175 to 180 hp. Fuel by the yard sheet and the UK dealer is 1,590 liters, water 988 liters.
Pre-purchase survey checklist
- Ask which length was stated in the listing and in the berth contract. 21.71 m is the length with bowsprit, the hull by the yard sheet is 20.37 m, and directories often print 21.26 m. If the marina contract shows one figure and the listing another, find out which of them sets the rate.
- Compare the displacement in the boat's documents with 39,244 kg. The figure 39,500 kg comes from directories and earlier sheets. If the documents show a third figure, ask for a weighing certificate or a class record for this hull.
- Look at the engine plate and the sail passport. The yard sheet, the UK dealer and the 2017 test give different powers and areas. The service book must match what is fitted on board.
- Count the cabins and compare them with the description. "Three + Crew" at the UK dealer does not rule out a four-cabin layout on a particular boat. The number of berths in the listing must match what you see on board.
- Ask for the Lloyd's documents for this hull. Contest Yachts UK states construction with Lloyd's A1 certification.
- Do not enter the 12,800 kg ballast from the 2017 test in place of the 13,500 kg from the current sheet, and do not carry over the "1 l" tanks from SailWiki. These are not data about the boat.
- Do not count built hulls: the yard does not publish a production total.
A mistake in the length costs more than the other points. The bill for the berth, the passage and winter storage will be calculated on the directory's 21.26 m or on the hull's 20.37 m, while the marina already counts with bowsprit at 21.71 m , and you will learn this only after the deposit is paid.
