North to south

Truck, ship, under her own power

Truck

A boat of 10-12 metres, about 3.5 metres wide: from the Baltic to France a little under 10,000 euros, to Slovenia about 8,500. The mast usually comes off. So do the canvas, the aerials, and anything that sticks up. Loose gear on deck is tied down as for a passage. The mast can go separately: in the same interview a shared load for a 15-metre mast is about 1,000 euros, and one mast alone up to 4,000. Again their November 2024 guideline, not a line in our contract.

Ship

In the same piece a freighter takes the boat with the mast up. Example ports: Kiel or IJmuiden, off at Palma, Genoa, or Split, about ten days. They do not name a ship price, and they say the truck comes out cheaper. There is nothing here to request that price with.

Under her own power

That is a passage, not a discount on the truck. Time, weather, and engine hours are not turned into a tariff in the interview. We do not add them. If the boat has not been looked at yet, the survey stays a separate step, before you pick the road.

In November 2024 a haulier told YACHT a guideline, not a price list. A boat of 10-12 metres, about 3.5 metres wide: from the Baltic to France a little under 10,000 euros, to Slovenia about 8,500. That is a size class on that date. A bill for your hull does not follow from the paragraph.

What in that interview comes before the kilometres

What this page does not have

No price for a particular hull, no transport date on this page, and no promise that sailing her yourself is cheaper. Course bases in Sweden, Turkey, and Croatia are not added to this bill: those are teaching weeks, not delivery of a boat you bought.

Guideline: interview with Saskia Neumann-Glogau (Glogau) in YACHT, Andreas Fritsch, 18 November 2024.
