FairHelm is an ISSA-accredited sailing school. On our courses you complete theory on the online platform, pass module quizzes and our internal final exam, and receive a FairHelm completion certificate showing ISSA-aligned training.
The official certificate for your qualification - for example VHF/SRC (Short Range Certificate), Yacht Crew, or Inshore / Offshore Skipper - is issued by ISSA. You receive it after you meet ISSA's requirements, typically including a paid exam with an ISSA-recognised examiner (often available online). As an accredited school, FairHelm may conduct those examinations for eligible candidates.
The fees in the table below are ISSA's certificate-issue fees: what ISSA charges for each certificate type, paid by the student in addition to any course tuition. Postage is not included.
Costs depend on ISSA and may change. We update this page when ISSA updates its fees. If you have already completed a course and need a replacement or extra physical copy, contact us via the contact page.

How much do ISSA certificates cost?
The amounts in the fee table are ISSA's charge for issuing each certificate type, paid by the student. They are separate from the course fee. Postage is not included.
What is the difference between the FairHelm certificate and the ISSA certificate?
Your FairHelm certificate confirms you completed our online course and passed the internal exam. The ISSA certificate is the official qualification document; ISSA issues it when you meet their requirements, which usually include a separate examiner exam (often online). The fee in the table applies when ISSA issues that certificate.
Where can I get a replacement or extra copy?
Contact us via the [contact page](/en/contact/) and we will help arrange a replacement or extra copy.
Which certificates does FairHelm support?
We run ISSA-aligned courses leading to certificates such as VHF/SRC, Yacht Crew, and Inshore or Offshore Skipper. See our [courses](/en/courses/) and [FAQ](/en/faq/) for paths and prerequisites.
