On the live Dufour 28 card the overview still calls the boat one of Northern Europe's most recognisable production yachts: «Scandinavian yards» in 1995-2005, about 200-380 hulls, length 8.5 m and beam 2.72 m. Lower on the same page the chips already print something else: production 1982-1987, LOA 8.53 m, beam 3.12 m. Until the prose drops the wrong country, the wrong years and the wrong beam, you are not yet looking at French Dufour 28 Mezzo buyers mean in broker listings.
The model was drawn by Jacques Fauroux for the Dufour yard in France, not a Scandinavian yard of the 1990s and not the Michel Dufour 29/31 line. Sailboatdata mirrors give about 140 Mezzo hulls for 1982-1987: that is not the 200-380 fork from the template. Waterline about 7.47 m (YM test about 7.50 m), draft about 1.68-1.70 m, displacement about 2800 kg, ballast on the order of 920 kg, under water a fin and spade, the rig a masthead sloop. Length and beam chips already match Mezzo after the SQL fix; LWL is missing on the card for the antifoul calculator.

Design history
For its time the Mezzo was unusual in layout: two aft cabins at about 29 ft overall, no forecabin as such - heads and sail locker forward, open saloon, few sleeping berths in the saloon, light stowage and trim per the Yachting Monthly report. That is a survey stake, not a brochure.
