Moody 31

On the live Moody 31 card the overview still calls the boat a Northern European production yacht: «Scandinavian yards» in 1983-1985, about 120-390 hulls, length 9.5 m against a chip of 9.37 m. In the history block the start is pushed back to 1975, and production is cut again at 1985 with the same hull range. Length and beam chips are already close to MkI (9.37, 3.2), but while the prose keeps the wrong country and a low/blurred count without MkII, you are not yet looking at British Moody 31 buyers mean in broker listings.
The model was drawn by Bill Dixon for Marine Projects / Moody in the UK, not a Scandinavian yard. MkI ran 1983-1985; from late 1985 to 1991 - MkII with a sugar-scoop stern and a near hull. The Moody owners archive counts about 305 hulls MkI+MkII together: that is not the 120-390 fork from the template. Waterline 7.75 m, fin draft 1.52 m (bilge 1.12 m), displacement about 4521 kg (not ~4940 from the overview), ballast on the order of 1667 kg, under water a fin and skeg-hung rudder, the rig a masthead sloop. LWL is missing on the card for the antifoul calculator.

Calculations and ratios
Brochure numbers need matching units. Open a FairHelm formula page for the classical form, rule of thumb, and limits before you compare listings.
Design history
On survey check keel bolts and the bilge option, seals and moisture at the chainplates, standing-rigging age by invoices, diesel service.
Typical problems
The live FAQ still pulls saildrive - we do not close drive type as SSOT in this pass; we close the false geography, line years and hull count.
Annual ownership costs
Read kronor annual bands as a marina class around 9.5 m, not a yard offer. We do not invent an asking price.
Calculators for this boat
Indicative figure for weekend use. The country supplies berth and winter. The insurance line stays the Swedish planning band - not a Danish, German, or Dutch premium. Maintenance stays Swedish too. Not a marina quote.
- Netherlands (annual contract)€3,700 - €6,312
- Sweden (planning bands)€4,950 - €8,550
- Denmark (two harbours, season)€3,771 - €6,191
Antifouling
Litres need waterline length and draft. This page only has length overall and beam, so litres are not calculated here.
