Charter yacht selection

FairHelm charter selection is buyer-side advisory that shortlists charter programmes against your crew size, licence, dates, and layout goals. It is not a charter marketplace, not a booking engine, and not a catalogue of boats we own or sell. We help you decide what to request from operators; you book with them.

How does charter selection work?

You send destination preferences, dates, crew profile, and any licence or experience limits. We reply with a short written brief: suitable LOA and layout band, red-flag operator claims to avoid, and a shortlist of programme types (bareboat, skippered, flotilla) that match. When a partner referral fits, we say so; when it does not, we still give the filter criteria so you can shop independently.

What we cover

LOA and berth realism for your crew, Med vs Baltic base logistics, bareboat vs skippered fit, licence and radio requirements operators usually check, and how a charter week can inform a later ownership shortlist. We cross-link the FairHelm charter discovery hub for routes and school bases, and the academy [charter handover and packing checklist](/en/academy/yachts/travel/charter-handover-packing-checklist/) for day-of walkthrough. We do not list live inventory or hold berths.

What this service is not

No searchable boat grid, no instant booking, no price guarantee from operators, no insurance brokerage, and no skipper placement agency. Availability and final quotes come from the charter company. If you only need route ideas without advisory, use the charter discovery hub. If you are buying, use listing review or survey coordination instead.

Charter selection FAQ

Does FairHelm rent or broker charter yachts?
No. We advise on selection criteria and may refer to known operators. Contracts and payments stay between you and the charter company.
Is this the same as the /charter/ hub?
No. The hub is discovery content (routes, school bases). This page is the advisory service for a personal shortlist brief.
Can you guarantee a specific boat or week?
No. Inventory moves with the season. We help you ask the right questions; the operator confirms the yacht.
Who is this for?
Crews planning a first or next bareboat week who want an independent filter before paying a deposit, and buyers who want to test layout before ownership spend.
