On the live Elan 40 card the overview calls the boat one of the most recognizable production yachts of Northern Europe: "Scandinavian yards", years 2009 to present, about 160-610 hulls, length 12.22 m, beam 3.91 m, displacement about 8 300 kg. In the related strip the boat is already called Slovenian. The chips below hold a different window: 2009-2012. Those figures track the Elan 410 sheet more closely than the classic Elan 40 (~2001-2005, beam about 3.83 m) or the Impression 40 (hull about 11.48 m from 2014). While the overview keeps the northern template and open-ended years, you do not yet know which hull you are reading.

The classic Elan 40 is Rob Humphreys for Elan (Slovenia), a fractional sloop, roughly 2001-2005: LOA about 11.90-12.20 m, LWL about 10.24 m, beam about 3.83 m, displacement about 7 200-7 900 kg. The Elan 410 from the same designer: 2009-2012, LOA about 12.27 m, LWL about 11.28 m, beam 3.91 m, displacement about 8 300 kg - the live chip band. The Impression 40 is shorter on hull length (about 11.48 m) and starts around 2014. Live hull count 160-610 is not taken as SSOT. We do not invent an asking price. We do not silently rename the catalog slug.

Design history

On survey, look at keel bolts and the joint, moisture at chainplates and the forestay, standing-rigging age from invoices, saildrive service - the live hull/deck checklist is already close.

Typical problems

Live overview Scandinavian / to present / 160-610 closes against the Slovenian related strip, chips 2009-2012, and the Elan 40 / 410 / Impression 40 fork.

Annual ownership costs

Annual cost bands in kronor read as a berth class around 12 m, not a yard quote. We do not invent an asking price here.

Calculators for this boat

Indicative figure for weekend use. The country supplies berth and winter. The insurance line stays the Swedish planning band - not a Danish, German, or Dutch premium. Maintenance stays Swedish too. Not a marina quote.

  • Sweden (planning bands)€8,050 - €12,750
  • Denmark (two harbours, season)€6,154 - €9,327

Antifouling

Litres need waterline length and draft. This page only has length overall and beam, so litres are not calculated here.

Pre-purchase survey checklist

Neighbors Elan 36 and the E line are not cloned here: first fix the overview and name the 40 / 410 / Impression fork.
